PROCEDURES FOR ADMISSION

Persons wishing to enroll at Bladen Community College must complete the entire application process. Applicants will be notified by mail when their application has been received and if any additional requirements are needed. Applicants will also be notified of the time and place of registration. The procedure for admissions and the documentation required for students seeking a degree, diploma, or certificate are as follows:

1. Obtain admission applications, instructions, and forms from the Office of Student Services or a high
    school guidance counselor

2. Submit a completed admissions application.

3. Have official school or GED (General Education Development) transcripts sent to the College. Student
    copies are not acceptable.

4. Transcripts of all previous post-secondary education must be requested by the applicant and sent
directly from the forwarding institution to the College. Student copies are not acceptable.

5. Submit a medical evaluation. The proper form is available from the Office of Student Services. A
physical examination is required of the College Transfer, Cosmetology, Nursing
    Assistant, Practical Nursing and programs.

6. Each curriculum student is required to take the advisement test prior to registration. The advisement
test does not deny admission to any applicant. The purpose of testing is to provide
necessary information in planning the student's program of study. Students who fail to meet
the pre-determined cut-off scores will be required to take developmental classes.

7. Be interviewed by a member of the Student Services Counseling Staff.

To be admitted to the curriculum indicated the advisement test scores must be attained as listed. Students not meeting these levels will be required to take Developmental Studies in the areas for which a deficiency is shown.
